Igniting innovation beyond borders: STARRISE team travelled to Martinique!
In the first week of June, the STARRISE partners travelled to Martinique, one of the Caribbean islands, ready to embark on an immersive and dynamic week. Organised and hosted by CCI Martinique, this intensive and productive week included an array of activities that brought important connections and collaborations.
The STARRISE consortium members visited local representatives of the agri-food and logistics sectors, received training on Innovation Strategy and Design Thinking delivered by IMP3ROVE, and participated in a workshop with local SMEs, providing valuable insights and knowledge to leverage their position in the national and international markets.
This innovation-development-oriented week marks a significant step in the STARRISE project, reflecting the consortium commitment to innovation and regional development.

Visits to local agri-food and logistics stakeholders
STARRISE consortium members visited the Grand Port Maritime de Martinique to understand the local logistics infrastructure. They also visited the facilities of a local rum producer and a mushroom producer, gaining valuable insights into regional production and innovation practices.
Workshop for SMEs
The project team participated in a workshop focused on applying design thinking methodologies to address challenges faced by local food and logistics companies. This hands-on session enabled participants to collaboratively develop innovative solutions tailored to the specific needs of the region’s key companies.
The workshop underscored the practical application of design thinking in problem-solving, fostering a creative and solution-oriented mindset among attendees. By engaging directly with local companies, the STARRISE Project team facilitated a dynamic exchange of ideas and strategies aimed at driving innovation and enhancing operational efficiencies within the food and logistics sectors.
STARRISE: Innovation Strategy and Design Thinking Training
During the intensive working week in Martinique, the project team actively engaged in a comprehensive training developed by IMP3ROVE, focused on innovation strategy development and design thinking for innovation.
The training provided in-depth insights into creating effective innovation strategies and leveraging design thinking to foster creative problem-solving. The consortium engaged in collaborative exercises that emphasised practical applications of these concepts, aimed at driving innovation.
